The tail of the Lagotto should have very little in the way of furnishings. Like the rest of the body, it should follow the outline of the dog. It is often said that it should be shaped like a carrot 🙂 The look is achieved using scissors and a comb.. back-comb the fur and follow the line of the tail all the way along to the base, all the way around the tail. Cut off the fur at the tip straight across. If you are shaving off the body, shave the whole tail as well.
